A longtime performer of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatres in New York and Los Angeles, Tony Rodriguez’s extensive comedy background made him a perfect fit to assume the role of Julio in Fox’s longest running hit show The Simpsons. Tony’s other voiceover credits include Renaldo Raccoon in Tiny Toons University, and Blaine in Disney’s Hamster and Gretel.
His screen credits include Late Late Night with James Corden, Crazy Ex Girlfriend, Adam Ruins Everything, Conan, Playing House, Jury Duty, the Emmy-winning webseries ‘Eastsiders,’ and Netflix’s Gente-fied. He also starred in the film Maximum Truth alongside Ike Barinholtz and Dylan O’Brien.
Tony shines behind the camera as well, having acted as consulting producer for ‘Transformistas,’ a highly-rated documentary that follows the original group of Cuban drag queens as they sacrifice everything for their art.
In 2020, Tony won ‘Outstanding Male Actor in a Webisode’ at HBO Latino’s Official Latino Film Festival. He also gained notoriety on social media with his stellar comedic timing in the popular Latine comedy podcast Spanish Aqui Presents, and used his Instagram influence to help save the beloved Silverlake queer bar Akbar.
