Meet Tim Kazurinsky! There’s more to him than just Officer Sweetchuck — who gets terrified and tortured by Bobcat Goldthwait’s Zed in Police Academy 2, 3, and 4.
As an Emmy-nominated Saturday Night Live writer/cast member (1981–84), Tim created unforgettable characters. Most notably as Madge the Chimp’s tormented husband in the “I Married a Monkey” soap opera. His hapless discoverer of questionable diseases, Dr. Jack Badofsky, and his guru, Havnagoodtime Vishnuverhere, who solved “Unanswered Questions of the Universe”, and mean Mr. Landlord, trying to collect rent from Eddie Murphy’s “Mr. Robinson”.
After SNL, Tim turned to the big screen, co-writing About Last Night (1986), For Keeps (1988), The Cherokee Kid (1996), and Strange Relations (2001), which earned him WGA and BAFTA nominations for Best Screenplay.
Screen appearances span Neighbors, Somewhere in Time, Shakes the Clown, and Hot to Trot. TV roles include Curb Your Enthusiasm, Chicago Med, According to Jim, and Faerie Tale Theatre. Stage-wise he worked at Second City in Chicago, did The Odd Couple with George Wendt in St. Louis, was the Wizard of Oz in the 1st National tour of Wicked, and played an angel along-side Jim Parson’s Jesus in An Act of God on Broadway.
