Michael Muhney is a Chicago-born actor, classically trained at one of the nation’s highest ranked conservatories and is best known for his portrayals of Sheriff Don Lamb on Veronica Mars and Adam Newman on The Young and the Restless.
Directly after college, Michael gained attention starring as the lead in an award-winning independent film and was then hired in the cast for the run of Skylight, at the prestigious Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago. Michael was then tapped by CBS to star as series regular, Paul Turk, the dark sheep son of Chicago’s Chief of Police on the CBS drama, Turks.
He continued as a series regular on The Huntress as Detective Mark Farrell, and followed that with guest starring and recurring roles in shows such as Charmed, ER, Without a Trace, and Numbers. Michael was originally written into the NCIS pilot as a series regular but after filming the pilot episode he stepped into a new role in the pilot for Veronica Mars as Sheriff Don Lamb and continued there as a series regular for three seasons.
Michael spent five years as a series regular on The Young and the Restless, gaining fame as Adam Newman, son of the infamous and legendary Victor Newman. Michael was nominated for a Lead Actor Emmy portraying that role. He moved on to appear in the first season of Good Doctor for ABC and recently made a season-long recurring appearance on Apple TV’s Truth Be Told.
Michael has appeared multiple times on stage in Chicago and has starred in various network pilots and award-winning independent films. Since 2005 he has been involved in an annual LA charity supporting pancreatic cancer research.
Currently Michael is teaching Theatre I, II, III and runs his own acting and audition coaching operation, and he and his wife Jaime share three children and numerous pets.
