Valorie Hubbard started training as an actress at three when her mother enrolled her in acting classes. Hubbard attended The Goodman School of Drama before moving to New York to begin her stage career. Her on-stage credits include The Crucible, The Country Boy, The Sweepers, Hoover Sucks, The Smell of the Kill, Orpheus Descending, Moon Under Miami, Turnadot, The Queen Bee’s Last Stand, and more.
In 1988, Hubbard made her big screen debut in Flesh Eating Mothers. It would be a few years before she broke onto the small screen with a role on the series Missing Persons in 1994. She went on to land roles in Henry Fool, Wrestling with Alligators, and Game Day.
After 2000, Hubbard appeared on The Job, ER., Desperate Housewives, American Body Shop, and Fox’s Glee. She portrayed Ma in Resident Evil: Extinction (2007) alongside Mia Jovovitch, Oded Fehr, and Ali Larter. In 2009 Hubbard appeared on HBO’s book-to-series hit drama True Blood as one of the Bon Temps natives caught up in a Maenad’s frenzied parties. The same year she played a waitress in The Smell of Success alongside Billy Bob Thornton and Téa Leoni.
Hubbard has guest starred on How I Met Your Mother, Romantically Challenged, 90210, Huge, Better with You, Workaholics, American Horror Story: Asylum, It’s Temporary, The Middle, Kickin’ It, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Castle, and Workaholics. She can also been seen in The Barber, Namour, and Sex, Death, and Bowling.
Hubbard started her own company, Actor’s Fast Track and released the book, The Actor’s Workbook. She teaches acting classes in Los Angeles.
